Olga Fontaine, English Language Learner teacher (ELL), Ukrainian translator

Olga Fontaine has been instrumental in welcoming the Ukrainian families to the Wasilla schools. She has created safe atmospheres in the three schools where she works on a daily basis. Her outreach with the families fosters connection between the local schools and community. Olga strives to teach our newcomers English and provides ample opportunities for them to flourish. She has attended all of our sponsored field trips to ensure the Ukrainian students comprehend their new setting. Olga is continuously translating for teachers, other students, support staff, and community members to help families and students interact with one another. Olga Fontaine is an incredibly valuable and important member of our community!
