Mat-Su College student wins Coca-Cola scholarship

MAT-SU — For a third consecutive year, a Mat-Su College student has been chosen as a Coca-Cola New Century Scholar.

Mackenzie Merrill, who also is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, received a $2,000 scholarship and plaque. She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

“We are very proud of Ms. Merrill,” Mat-Su College Director Talis Colberg said. “It is very exciting for all of the staff and faculty to see this type of student success.”

“I really enjoy going to Mat-Su College,” Merrill said. “I’ve gotten to know my teachers and I appreciate the small community atmosphere.”
