Millions of dollars in scholarship funds are available for Mat-Su Valley students and Mat-Su College (MSC) wants to help you secure that support to Fund your Future.
The ‘Fund Your Future’ Financial Aid Resource Fair will be held Feb. 8 at the college with MSC Financial Aid Advisors, who will be joined by representatives from organizations across the Valley offering grants and scholarships.
Darla Haddeland is one of the college’s Financial Aid Advisors and she says, "The goal is to increase awareness of funding opportunities for students who want to complete post-secondary education. We are expecting a great turnout!"
Financial Aid Advisors will be joined by representatives from the Mat-Su Job Center, Mat-Su Health Foundation (MSHF) and many more! On its own, MSHF says it awarded around $2.8 million dollars in academic support to Valley students pursuing education and training in healthcare or human services.
Erin Bendle is the MSHF Scholarship Program Associate and she says, “We have a very large shortage of healthcare and human services workers in the Valley, and it's our goal to support our valley students as they train to help care for the community.” She continues, “Whatever goal you are dreaming of for your future, you can do it! As long as you keep putting one foot in front of the other, no matter the speed you're moving at, you'll get there.”
Financial Aid Advisors will also be hosting a FAFSA Completion Room to help students complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid. To see what documentation you will need to bring for the FAFSA process, please visit: www.tinyurl.com/yurfhyc7.
The ‘Fund Your Future’ Financial Aid Resource Fair is free and open to the public.
It will be held Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mat-Su College
