PALMER — The Mat-Su CVB is hosting a Tourism Summit on Nov. 1 at the Government Peak Chalet, which will help shape the future of tourism in the Valley.
According to a news release, the summit is being facilitated by Paul Ouimet, managing director of DestinationNEXT, which is a part of the Destinations International organization. Last fall, Ouimet presented findings from a Mat-Su tourism stakeholder survey as part of the first phase. On Nov. 1, Ouimet will take those findings and help provide a road map for future economic development opportunities and tourism growth in the Mat-Su Valley.
At the summit, The McDowell Group, a research firm, will also present findings from a Mat-Su Tourism Economic Impact Analysis.
The summit runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Refreshments will be served. There is no cost to attend, and the event is open to the public.
On Nov. 9 at Evangelo’s, the Mat-Su CVB is hosting its annual meeting and awards luncheon. From 10 a.m. to noon, learn about the CVB’s marketing and membership activities from the past year, as well as future plans. It’s an opportunity for members to also give feedback to the board of directors. At noon, the “Stars of the Industry” luncheon will honor those in the industry who have excelled.
