The Religious Society of Friends, a Quaker organization, meets the second Sunday of each month at Birchtree Charter School just off the Palmer-Wasilla Highway midway between Palmer and Wasilla. Winona Benson with the University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service Nutrition Program will teach a free cooking class called “Fresh From the Garden” at 1 p.m., Aug. 13, and every Thursday following until Oct. 15 in the “Five Loaves Two Fish”kitchen Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 501 E.
