MAT-SU — Signup now to participate in this year’s Mat-Su Farm Bureau Farm Tour on July 24.
Farms on the tour this year are Vanderweele Farm (largest commercial farm in Mat-Su), Havemeister Dairy (the only dairy farm remaining in Mat-Su), Little Pitchfork Ranch (lunch will be served here and participants can view the bison and elk in the upper fields), Stockwell Farm (2013 “Farm Family of the Year” winner), Pioneer Peak U-Pick (15 acres and over 25 years operating), and Bushes and Bunches Stand (more than 40 years in business).
This year’s tour is limited to 95 people, and the cost is $70 per person. Tickets include coffee and pastries in the morning prior to departure, and an all-American catered lunch.
In Anchorage, participants will meet at the Carrs store at Muldoon Road and Northern Lights Boulevard at 8 a.m. In Palmer, participants meet at the Division of Agriculture at 9 a.m.
