The Mat-Su Miners moved to 4-0 in non-conference/exhibition games with a 4-0 win over the Chugiak Chinooks.
The story of the night was the Miners pitching as Cal Baptist’s Michael Malki, Barry’s Jack Ensell, Sam Houston’s Garrett Baumann and Central Missouri’s Greyson Chappell teamed up to throw a combined 14 strikeouts Friday night.
Malki got the start and dominated in his four innings worth of work.
“I just attacked the hitters today. I felt like my fastball and curveball were both working and it felt good,” said the Cal Baptist sophomore.
Ensell came in and through one inning before Baumann shutdown the next three innings. Greyson Chappell came in the ninth and struck out two to end the game.
Cal Baptist’s Carter Eberhard was the entire offense for the Miners tonight going 2-4 with three RBI, and Luke Wilson recorded his second three-hit game of the season going 3-5.
