To the editor,
This letter to thank everyone for a great summer! This season had an average of over 900 fans per game during the course of our home games played at the Alaska State Fairgrounds at Hermon Brothers Field in Palmer.
What was crazy, is that attendance was over 1,200 on multiple days. Wow! We cannot tell you enough how much contribution from our sponsors, volunteers, host families and FANS mean to our organization. We won our division “ABL National League Champions” and finished in second place overall for the league. Our record was 31-10 league and 35-13 overall. We were ranked No. 2 in the country for collegiate summer baseball. This is the best record season for our GM, Pete Christopher! Our coaching staff was top notch and we look forward to having head coach Ben Taylor back for his fourth season in 2016.
We are working hard on next season’s roster with numerous emails and phone calls coming in from coaches wanting to send their players to the Mat-Su Miners.
See you in 2016 and thank you so much (got to keep saying that, we really mean it!).
Pete Christopher,
General manager
and Mat-Su Miners
