Morlock scores game-winner

Jeremy Morlock scored in overtime to lift the Houston Hawks past the Delta Huskies 6-5 on Saturday in Wasilla.

Wade Williams scored the game-tying goal with 6 minutes and 55 seconds left in regulation.

Joe Current stopped 27 shots and earned the win in goal.

On Friday Williams notched a hat trick to lead Houston to a 9-4 win over Delta on Friday in Wasilla.

Larry Kincaid scored shorthanded and on the power play in the Hawk win. Rick Morlock, Chad Lipse and Jason Hundley also scored for Houston.

In relief of Paul Sutton-Jones, Current stopped 19 of 20 shots in the final two periods to earn the win.

Palin hat trick leads Warriors

Track Palin led Wasilla to a 4-3 win over Soldotna at the Soldotna Sports Center on Saturday with a hat trick.

Palin scored a special teams goal in each period to help the Warriors improve to a 5-2-1 record in Region III play.

Palin scored power-play goals in each of the first two periods before notching the game-winning shorthanded goal in the third.

Joe Barclay also scored for Wasilla.

Jeremiah Dargis, Tanner Dutcher, Jordan Troisi and Arlin Welch notched assists in the game.

Wasilla goaltender Ronnie Walker made several big saves in the game and stopped 28 shots.

Kenai edges Colony

The Kenai Kardinals used a pair of first-period goals to skate past the Colony Knights 3-2 at the Soldotna Sports Center on Saturday.

Kenai improved to 7-0-1 in region play and claimed yet another Region III title.

Ryan Pauling and Austin Manelick scored for the Knights (6-2-0).

In other action Skyview defeated Palmer 9-3.
