Mat Su Regional was happy to partner with Mat Su Central for this year’s 2017 Bide Rodeo which was attended by approximately 250 children and parents at the Curtis Menard Memorial Sports Center. This summer safety forum featured bicycle safety awareness and education, vendor displays, a bike race and obstacle course. Over 100 helmets were distributed and some great prizes were awarded to an excited crowd.
“This event was a great success and an excellent opportunity for members of our community to review bicycle safety skills, receive a helmet personally fitted to each child and have fun with friends and family,” said Alan Craft, Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the hospital.
Alaska Bicycle Center was on-site performing safety inspections and minor tune-ups. Backcountry Bike & Ski were also on-site fitting all the participant helmets. It was a great opportunity to answer questions and educate participants on proper bicycle maintenance.
