Mat-Su Regional’s Family Birthing Center upgrades newborn care capabilities with new equipment

PALMER — Mat-Su Regional Medical Center's Family Birthing Center recently upgraded the newborn warmers in all labor and delivery rooms and the well-baby nursery to enhance newborn care after delivery,

According to a press release, the new warmers' technology offers several benefits in neonatal care such as providing precise temperature control, integrated monitoring capabilities, a built-in scale, promoting a quieter and more soothing environment for newborns, and contributing to better outcomes.

“While our goal is to have every baby skin-to-skin after delivery, when interventions are necessary, we are thrilled to have these new resources to keep babies warm and safe. These warmers are much more efficient, allow our team more space to work, and more time focused on these precious babies,” Mat-Su Regional Medical Center Family Birthing Center Director Adrian Stauffer, MSN, RN stated in the press release.

Mat-Su Regional Medical Center is the Valley's largest community healthcare provider with a 125-bed facility that offers a wide range of inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic imaging and emergency, medical and surgical services.
