Colony basketball hosting dinner
The Colony High basketball programs are hosting their annual prime rib dinner and auction Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at Colony High School.
Tickets are $15 for the dinner, which also features silent and live auctions.

MYAC registration has begun
Those interested in participating in the MYAC basketball program this season can register at eteamz.com/MYACBasketball/ now through Dec. 1. MYAC provides a recreation program for youth in grades third through eighth. Registration fees are $85 per player. Scholarships are available, and coaches or assistant coaches can have one player fee waived.
Sports center youth programs start soon

PAHA hosting steak feed
The Palmer Amateur Hockey Association is hosting its sixth annual steak feed from noon to 8 p.m., Dec. 12 at the Palmer Moose Lodge, 110 S. Cobb Street near the Amoosement Park in Palmer.
The dinner, which is the association’s only fund-raiser, includes a New York steak, baked potato, salad and garlic bread.
All proceeds from the dinner event will go toward the association’s “Gear up for Hockey” program, which provides scholarships for players and team tournament fees.
Professional wrestling event scheduled
Alaska Pro Wrestling is hosting an event Dec. 10 at 6:30 p.m. at Wasilla Middle School.
The professional wrestling event will feature about a dozen athletes from Alaska. There will be five matches and a 10-man battle royale.
The event is also a fund-raiser for Special Olympics and Boy Scouts.

Caribou hunt closed for GMU 13
The winter Nelchina Tier II subsistence caribou hunting season in Game Management Unit 13 closed by emergency order Nov. 14, according to a press release issued by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
Because of the closure, hunters are reminded to turn in thier permit cards as soon as possible.The harvest quota this year is 1,500 bulls and 800 cows. The current reported harvest is 1,404 bulls and 547 cows for both state and federal subsistence hunts. Additional harvest during the federal subsistence winter hunt and harvest not yet reported from the Tier II hunt are expected to raise the total harvest of the objective.
