Mat-Su Miners alter Grand Slam Raffle plans
The Mat-Su Miners annual Grand Slam Raffle was scheduled for April 25. The Miners will not be able to host the event in a public setting due to current state mandates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. But raffle tickets will still be drawn that day. Every winner will be contacted immediately.
A total of $15,450 will be awarded, including the grand prize of $10,000 will be awarded to the owner of the 400th and final ticket drawn. There is also a $1,000 prize for the 399th ticket.
There will be 22 total cash prizes awarded.
Each raffle ticket also comes with a season pass that admits two people for the 2020 Mat-Su home games. Also this year, ticket holders will receive two hamburgers and two soft drinks at a Mat-Su home game of their choice.

Wasilla High in search of boys basketball coach
Wasilla High School is in search of a head coach to lead its boys basketball program in the 2020-21 season.
The school is asking for candidates to have a demonstrated record of communicating well with teenage athletes, coaches and administrators.
Applicants must be able to meet the Wasilla High School schedule of events and practices, and previous head coaching experience at the high school level or higher is preferred.
Those interested are asked to submit a letter of application and current resume to Wasilla activities director Stacia Rustad at stacia.rustad@matsuk12.us. The application deadline is April 15.
