Wasilla High School baseball players are raising funds to travel to Juneau during the 2011 season. The team will be at Sportsman’s Warehouse on Saturday and Feb. 19 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. selling raffle tickets. Tickets are $10 to enter a drawing for a trip for four for five nights to Coffman Cove Adventures on Prince of Wales Island. Airfare and ferry is included.
There are two options both in 2011: Steelhead fishing/early bear hunt April 25-30 or duck/deer hunt Oct. 24-29.

PLL is also hosting its first open registration for baseball and softball Feb. 19 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Palmer High School. At the same time, PLL will host an open gym and clinic for all returning basketball and softball players at the major and junior level. Participants must be registered.
Mid-Valley Wrestling Club has opened its registration. Those interested can e-mail midvalleywrestling@live.com to request a registration packet. Completed paperwork and club fee can be mailed to the club. The club includes freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling, for girls and boys of any skill level, ages pre-K to adult. The National Wrestling Alliance professional wrestling is coming to Colony High School at 7 p.m., April 1, sponsored by the Colony Knights Boosters as a fund-raiser for the football team.
Main event will be an NWA Midsouth title match featuring “The Human Highlight Reel” Austin Lane against Midsouth Idol Derrick King. NWA is also working on adding former ECW champion, TNA XDivision and WWE Lightweight champion Jerry Lynn for a possible three-way main event. Semi-main event is a tag-team match featuring Ft. Richardson’s own Chainsaw Charlie and Wasilla’s own AK Lighting taking on MK 2 and Atomic Dog. The feature match is for the Alaska State Heavyweight Title.
Adult tickets are $10, while students grades five through 12 get in for $5. Younger children admitted free with paid adult. Tickets go on sale Feb. 7 and can be purchased through members of the Colony Knights Boosters, Colony football coaches and members of the team.

Applications for the 84th running of the Mount Marathon race in Seward during the July 4th holiday will be accepted through March 31. Lottery results will be announced mid-April. Applications are online at seward.com. Cost is $45 for adults and $25 for juniors.
