Registration is now open for the 2011 Tri-Valley Wrestling Club season at trivalleywrestling.com. A membership meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9 at 7 p.m. at Colony High.

of football coach
Wasilla High School is currently accepting applications for its vacaant head varsity football coach position.
Applicants with prior successful experience coaching or competiing at a highly competitive level are asked to submit a letter of application and current reseme to the Wasilla High activities office.
The deadline for application is Feb. 14.

Mid-Valley Wrestling
Club forming
Mid-Valley Wrestling Club, a Freestyle, Greco-Roman, Folkstyle Wrestling club in Wasilla is inviting all girls and guys of any skill level, ages Pre-K to adult to join. Season runs beginning February to beginning May.
Cost: $50. Mid-Valley Wrestling Club fee, $40 USA Wrestling card fee.
New wrestlers will receive a free team t-shirt. Practices are at Wasilla High School from 6pm to 8pm Mondays thru Thursdays. We are holding two different Registration Nights at Wasilla High School Commons from 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Thursday January 20th and Monday January 24th. The Mat-Su Youth Football Association is hosting early registration for the 2011 youth football season.
The registration fee is $235 and can be done online at myfa.net.

Spring leagues start Jan. 26
The National Wrestling Alliance professional wrestling is coming to Colony High School at 7 p.m., April 1, sponsored by the Colony Knights Boosters as a fund-raiser for the football team.
Main event will be an NWA Midsouth title match featuring “The Human Highlight Reel” Austin Lane against Midsouth Idol Derrick King. NWA is also working on adding former ECW champion, TNA XDivision and WWE Lightweight champion Jerry Lynn for a possible three-way main event.
Semi-main event is a tag-team match featuring Ft. Richardson’s own Chainsaw Charlie and Wasilla’s own AK Lighting taking on MK 2 and Atomic Dog.
The feature match of the evening is for the Alaska State Heavyweight Title with champion Michael Maddness defending his crown.
Adult tickets are $10, while students grades five through 12 get in for $5. Younger children admitted free with paid adult. Tickets go on sale Feb. 7 and can be purchased through members of the Colony Knights Boosters, Colony football coaches and members of the team.
