Palmer junior Brennan Harrison has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Student-Athlete of the Week.
Harrison scored a pair of big goals to help the Palmer hockey team play to a third-place finish during the Curtis C. Menard II Memorial Hockey Tournament in Wasilla over the weekend.
The junior defenseman supplied the lone goal of a 1-0 win over East Anchorage during the first round of the tournament. Harrison scored late in regulation to help his team move into the semifinals. Harrison also posted a goal and an assist during Palmer’s 4-1 win over Kenai Central in the tournament’s third-place match.
