Colony High School volleyball standout Shellina Irwin has been named the Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman Prep Student-Athlete of the Week,
Irwin was dominant for the Knights over a three-game weekend run that saw Colony play a trio of Fairbanks-area teams. The Knights finished 2-1, beating North Pole and Lathrop, and dropping a close match to West Valley.
In those games, Irwin recorded 46 kills, five blocks, 19 digs and nearly double digits in aces as well.
Colony head coach Amy Carter had nothing but praise for Irwin, who has been performing at a consistently high level all season.
