Mat-Su Valley grapplers ranked in poll

PALMER — Four Valley wrestlers hold the top spot of their respective weight class in the latest rankings compiled by akmat.org.

Wasilla’s Abe Fox (103) and Caleb Pempek (152), and Colony’s Kenny Boykin (171) and Eric Fan (215) are all ranked No 1. according to the website devoted to Alaska wrestling.

Colony is the top 4A team, according to akmat.org. Wasilla is ranked fifth.

The teams are off for the holiday weekend, but will return to the mat Dec. 4-5 for the Northern Lights Conference Wrestling Championship at Wasilla High School.
