Maybe just scrap the Susitna

To the editor,

Let’s see if I have it right. Due to lack of a couple hundred dollars in tarps and the caretakers not wrapping the funnels, ducts and exhaust stacks on “our boat” the M/V Susitna, we now have a $3 million repair bill on the marine engines due to water infiltration. Just what were the caretakers doing…sitting on the bank at Ward’s Cove making sure no one stole our boat?

Maybe we need to tow it to some Asian country and let the torches go to work instead of towing it to Seattle for repairs. The M/V Susitna has been a classic example of why we taxpayers don’t trust bureaucracies at any level.
