To the editor:
Some two weeks ago we honored our Valley’s mayors at the Valley Mayor’s Ball and benefited the Valley food banks by distributing all net proceeds to them through our co-producer, United Way of Alaska. It was a resounding success.
But none of it would have been possible without the dynamic volunteering by Shirley Barnes, Linda Combs, Jaccie Gaines, Anne King, John Klapperich, Cherie LaBlanc-Shue, Pam Stevens, Jillyan Webb, Renee Havey and many others.
Donors of services and products share in our appreciation, knowing they support many benevolent causes unhesitatingly: the Alaska State Fair, A-1 Pawn, Flowers by Louise, UPS, Gold Nugget Jewelers, Mat-Su Valley Frontiersman, Strangebird Consulting, Ted Bell Photography, Special Events Party Store, Vanderweele farms and large financial contributions from the cities of Wasilla and Houston.
All of the Mayor’s Ball committee thanks each volunteer, contributor, sponsor and donor for helping make this event a success for the food banks.
