Regarding MEA’s Joe Griffith’s options for Wasilla power. It appears by his comments his only option is to appeal to the Superior Court. While not a good one for him, by his own evaluation, it is probably the only feasible one.
No. 2, Bury the lines. Griffith says not feasible.
No. 3, Stop the Project. Griffith says it is a last resort and should not be pursued.
No. 4, Re-route around Wasilla. Griffith says it would have significant impact on member’s homes and neighborhoods and not in the best interest.
Griffith has indicated right from the beginning the only option is down the highway, and if my memory is correct, he said he would sue if he doesn’t get his way. I personally thought he was a bit arrogant toward the Planning Commission. Doesn’t matter that the road option will also affect member’s homes and neighborhoods.
We are all members, the city of Wasilla and the rest within the co-op. Find an optional route acceptable to all, or go with Option 1, Griffith. When you lose, hire some of our well-qualified local contractors and start digging.
