All the MEA letters have been interesting, and well, here’s my two cents worth. A loud and vocal minority does not make it the majority. Even if they have loud and vocal non-member supporters, it still does not make it the majority.
Often it seems the majority may be the less vocal appreciative folks that are pleased with the current job Lee Jordan is doing, and the job the current MEA management is doing to have our lights come on when we hit the switch at home and at our place of business. They have also kept it at a price that doesn’t “shock” us, with every bill. Appreciative of the fact they are looking for different options that may protect us from any financial decisions that have been made where we currently purchase electricity that could hit us hard in the distant future. They all have been working hard in a torrent of opposition.
And if you want to change the time frame as to when the newly elected board members are installed, balance seems prudent so that installation can happen in a timely fashion, where all necessary steps that need to be done can happen, but not in a rushed, frantic move to force change. A vote for change that doesn’t make sense, just for the sake of change, seems ill advised.
