A local volunteer organization is bringing a fun little Wisconsin tradition to Alaska with a meat raffle, all in the name of helping raise funds for The Alaska Project, a retreat based property to serve and connect families of the fallen, veteran support organizations and volunteers.
Many Hands Missions is hosting the meat raffle at the Fishhook Bar and Grill on Thursday, May 29, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.
“My volunteer organization, Many Hands Mission, has been volunteering at the site for the last 3 years making our next trip to the property our 5th time coming to 'lend many hands' at the property,” wrote Kelly Krahn-Berres.
The Alaska Project is an initiative of The 98 Fund, and serves as a retreat property to serve and connect families of the fallen, veteran support organizations, and volunteers. During week-long experiences, visitors honor their loved ones and friends with daily memorials, create lasting relationships, and participate in meaningful projects, all within the vast beauty of Alaska.
Over 500 people have participated in The Alaska Project since its inception nearly nine years ago, including over 100 survivors. It was begun with the desire to care for children of the fallen by providing mentorship and experiences with people who knew and/or served with the parent they lost.
From the start, the program has grown and evolved into a retreat that serves not only families of ther fallen, but veterans from all branches of service.
The property now serves not only The 98 Fund, but a variety of other corporations and non-profits seeking a place to bring people and connect with each other, nature, and the values they hold dear. To learn more about the property please enjoy the videos below, or contact us.
“Please come help us support a great cause and hopefully you'll have some fun and go home with some delicious meat!”
