U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Thomas Harrell, Defense Health Network Central director and Medical Readiness Command-Alpha commander, recently made a visit to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, touring the Alaska VA hospital and meeting with Airmen from multiple medical facilities to answer questions, award Airmen for their achievements and to get a view of the medical impact on readiness of the force. He also visited the base fire station, speaking with paramedics about their day-to-day routine and response system procedures.
