About Kemp: Ryan Kemp recently completed his first season with the Mat-Su Miners. The St. Joseph’s junior was selected by the Cincinnati Reds during the 14th round of the MLB Draft earlier this month, and has signed with the Reds organization. A native of Columbia, Md., Kemp was named Baltimore City Player of the Year as a junior.
At St. Joseph’s: Kemp emerged as the St. Joseph’s closer as a junior, recording four saves. He made 25 appearances, which is second most in a season at St. Joseph’s. He also recorded a 1.72 earned run average in confernece play. During his sophomore season, he served as his team’s primary setup man, recording 17 hitters in 15 innings.
With the Miners: Kemp’s time with the Miners was limited, but he did record a pair of saves in his four appearances.
