The Mat-Su Valley's Memorial Day observance events culminate around the Veterans' Wall of Honor ceremony at noon Monday. The program includes holiday traditions like the presentation of colors and Pledge of Allegiance, as well as guest speakers, a benediction, ceremonial rifle firing and sounding of Taps.
The Veterans Wall is just off the Trunk Road exit of the Parks Highway, near the Mat-Su Visitor Center.

Wreath ceremonies in Palmer
The Matanuska Valley American Legion Post 15 is performing three wreath ceremonies to honor fallen military service men and women.
The first is at Palmer Cemetery at 11 a.m. Immediately following, a wreath ceremony will be held at the Matanuska River. The final ceremony is at the Butte Cemetery. After the Veterans' Wall Ceremony, Post 15 will be hosting a luncheon at its Outer Springer Loop Road location. For more information, people may call 745-4440.

The public is invited to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9365 at the Wasilla post office at 10:30 a.m. for a Memorial Day procession to the cemetery, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. The VFW will host an open house luncheon after the Veterans' Wall of Honor ceremony at its 301 Lakeview Ave. location, one-fifth of a mile up Knik-Goose Bay Road. Color Guard performances
The Susitna Valley American Legion Post 35 will perform the Color Guard ceremony at the Wasilla Cemetery at 11 a.m. and at the Veterans' Wall of Honor at the Mat-Su Visitors Center afterward. At 2 p.m., Post 35 will host an open house and pork-roast potluck at its Mile 46 Parks Highway location.
