To the editor:
This past weekend I had the privilege of going door-to-door, campaigning for my friend Linda Menard. Linda is running for re-election to the Alaska State Senate.
As I delivered the material and talked to voters, I was reminded of several longtime Valley names that have contributed to the area for so long. Names like Woods, Deschamps, Hotchkiss, Loyer, Hooks and many more.
I could not help, but feel a sense of pride that Linda Menard has been here in the Valley for over four decades, working to make Mat-Su the great place it is. Linda has been working for us in the Senate for the last four years, but she has been helping in Mat-Su for what seems like forever!
She spent 12 years serving us on the Mat-Su School Board and served as president of the board. She ran a successful Valley business, meeting payroll and putting Valley residents to work. Linda and her late husband, Curt, raised five children here in the Mat-Su. Linda is someone I have known and trusted all of my life.
I’m excited to be supporting Linda in the election on Aug. 28. I suggest to all my friends and neighbors that they choose the Republican ballot and vote for Linda Menard on Aug. 28!
