Carry the Cure, a Palmer-based ministry and outreach organization, plans to take its message of hope, encouragement and suicide prevention to Bush areas along the Iditarod Trail.
Starting Feb. 28, this year’s annual mission will take 12 people to five villages in six days using two planes, beginning in Wasilla and ending March 4 in Nome.
Each village stop will have a suicide prevention school assembly and an evening concert/outreach program.
The checkpoint stops also include McGrath, Kaltag, Unalakleet and White Mountain.
Cost of the 2011 Carry the Cure is estimated at $20,000, and the group still needs donations to meet that goal.
