Oct. 7 is your opportunity to elect Marty Metiva as the next mayor of Wasilla. I think Marty is a great choice because of the energy he has and his genuine desire to map and implement a long-term plan for our great community.
I have to share that I have not known Marty for a real long time but I have been impressed with his actions and his dedication to our community since I met him two years ago. I strongly believe that Marty is not out to use clever campaign taglines to get into office.
We, as a community, are going to continue to grow at a record-breaking pace. We need a strong leader that does not mind putting in the long hours to work his plan.
I recently attended a Wasilla City Council meeting where Marty secured the establishment of a historical commission that is designed to protect and preserve the history of our great community. He looks to welcome and pursue new businesses coming to our community so we can keep more dollars here in the Valley instead of watching them drive to Anchorage every day. Our future generations need this even more than the rest of us need this today.
He welcomes all party stances because he knows with community development the goal is to serve the community and the people. Marty is, without question, the best choice for the mayor of Wasilla.
