The Miners split a two game exhibition series vs Kingsmen Baseball Academy (South Carolina). The Kingsmen took the first game of the series Friday night 9-4 before the Miners evens the series with a 7-5 win on Saturday.

Neither one of the games for the Miners were pretty, but Saturday's game was a lot better than Friday's game.

The Miners made more errors than they had hits on Friday night, totaling just two hits and 4 errors on the game. The Kingsmen hit two home runs to left field and were never down against the Miners in first game.

The second game started out with a Ridge Erickson home run that put the Miners up 2-0. Local talent Boman Marks out of Colony HS started the game for the Miners and threw five innings and recorded a win after giving up just 4 runs and 5 hits.

The Miners did just enough on the offensive side including a big day from Central Missouri infielder Cole Funkhouser who went 3-3 with a walk Saturday after having the only two Miner’s hits in game one vs the Kingsmen.

The Miners close out non-league/exhibition games 6-1. Every game from now on for the Miners will count towards the league standings. They are currently 1-1 in the ABL standings after walking off the Anchorage Glacier Pilots last Wednesday and losing to the Anchorage Bucs the next night. The team will travel to Anchorage Sunday afternoon to play the Glacier Pilots before coming back home to try and get revenge versus the Bucs on Monday night.
