Mat-Su Miners head coach Tyler LeBrun was named the 2023 Alaska Baseball League Coach of the Year.
LeBrun led the Miners to a league-best 23-16 record during the regular season, and a runner-up finish in the league championship series. The Phoenix, Arizona, native capped his fifth season as the head coach of the Miners. LeBrun also served as an assistant when the Miners won an ABL title in 2018.
Five Mat-Su players earned first-team All-ABL honors. Cooper Vest (first base), Emilio Barreras (shortstop), Steven Lancia (catcher) Candon Dahle (starting pitcher) and Ethan Lyke (relief pitcher) earned first-team honors.
Kaden Carpenter (outfield), Alex Vergara (outfield), Drew Christo (starting pitcher) and Larry Westall (relief pitcher) were all named to the second team.
