The MOMS Club of Wasilla is hosting an open house tomorrow for new mothers to check out the organization and all it offers.
The MOMS Club is part of a national organization that was founded in 1983 by Mary B. James. There are more than 1,500 chapters around the world.
The MOMS Clubs gives at-home mothers a chance to share interests and get together.
The club offers activities for both children and mothers, ranging from arts and crafts to play groups.
Activities are scheduled during the day and are either free or inexpensive, Olivia Holland, the membership vice president of the Wasilla chapter, said. "We are a group of stay-at-home moms that get together for different activities every month," Holland said.
The children generally range from newborn through 5 years. But home school children older than that are welcome as well.
The open house is scheduled during the regular meeting of the club, which is tomorrow from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the First Presbyterian Church of Wasilla. The club meets there every third Wednesday of the month.
The organization also sponsors field trips, such as one recently taken to the Wasilla Police Department, as well as a service project (toy drive for the church) and Mom's Night Out.
