Money should have been saved for Parks Highway upgrade

To the editor:

A contractor for the state is working on the Parks Highway at Stanley Road apparently adding a traffic light. The state is working on a redesign of the Parks Highway from Wasilla to Big Lake Road to add lanes and improve traffic.

I do not know what the final highway design will be, but it will likely involve tearing up the work that is now being done. The current project should not have been funded. Instead, the money should have been saved for the Parks Highway upgrade.

The state has limited money for road improvements. Spending money on something which will be torn up in a planned project is waste. We need to get rid of whoever is responsible for this foolishness.
