PALMER — Ethan Welch gave Palmer an early lead, but Monroe Catholic used five goals in the final two periods to skate to a 5-2 nonconference win over the Moose Friday at the MTA Events Center in Palmer.
Caleb Sanborn bagged a goal and two assists for the defending 3A state champions in the win. Landon Bartels, Dylan Thompkins, Ryan Michel and Riley Ott also scored.
Welch scored with 4:44 left in the first to give Palmer the 1-0 lead. Noah Keil added a third-period goal for Palmer.
