PALMER — The Palmer Moose scored a pair of wins at Homer Saturday.
Senior Luke Guggenmos led Palmer to a 6-5 Southcentral Conference win over the Mariners. Guggenmos delivered on the mound and at the plate. As Palmer’s starting pitcher, Guggenmos fanned 11 hitters and allowed only two earned runs over six innings.
Guggenmos also singled, doubled, scored twice and drove in two runs.
Owen Hayes added two hits, a run and an RBI. Hayes also pitched the seventh inning to earn the save. Keagan Norman added a run.
Later Saturday, Palmer added a 6-0 win over Homer. Keagan Norman and Anthony Jones combined to pitch a three-hit shutout. Jones worked five innings, and earned the win.
Brady Shults led Palmer at the plate with two hits and two RBI. Devon Wear also had two hits. Hayes scored twice.
Warriors blank Kenai
Trenton Walters pitched a complete game shutout to lead Wasilla to a 14-0 win over Kenai Friday in Kenai
Clayton Boyett finished 3 for 3 at the plate, with four runs scored and two RBI. Jacob Gilbert drove in three runs and scored twice. Waylon Payne added a pair of RBI. Jacob Hanson and Nolan Murphy also scored twice.
Wasilla also beat Soldotna 12-1 during its trip to the Peninsula. Murphy drove in three. Boyett and Gilbert added three runs each.
Colony scores win over SoHi
Colony used a six-run fourth inning to post an 11-2 victory over Soldotna Friday in Soldotna.
Trace Severson pitched a complete game for the Knights, scattering five hits and two earned runs. The senior fanned seven and walked only three.
Zach Satterly drove in three runs to lead Colony. Kaden Ketchum and Evan Walker added two RBI each.
