PALMER — Emma Uschmann scored seven of her team-high 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Palmer hang on to grab a 54-52 nonconference win over Bartlett during the third day of the Palmer Elks Showdown, Friday at Palmer High School.
Palmer, which improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the tournament, led 40-29 after the third quarter. Bartlett stormed back into the game late, with 23 fourth-quarter points. Brandee Hawley hit a pair of fourth-quarter three-pointers for the Golden Bears, and scored 11 of her game-high 21 during the final frame.
All 11 Palmer players in uniform saw time on the floor for the second straight night, and nine of the 11 scored. In addition to Uschmann’s 13, Abrianna Busbey added 10. Kalia Bull chipped in nine for the Moose.
The Moose can win the Elks Showdown title with a victory over Eagle River Saturday at Palmer High.
In boys’ action, Palmer walloped the Mohawk Indians of Marcola, Oregon, 66-19.
The Moose boys, who also improved to 2-0 in the tourney, can capture the boys title with a win over Lathrop Saturday.
