PALMER — The Palmer Moose scored their first Northern Lights Conference victory of the season Saturday.
Lorna Suaava scored 11 points to lead the Moose to a 45-37 win over the Kenai Kardinals at Kenai Central High School. Kassidy Bowman added 10 points to help Palmer improve to 1-3 in the conference. Palmer also bounced back from an overtime loss to Soldotna on Friday. The Stars edged Palmer 5-1 in the extra period, to score a 34-30 win over the Moose at Soldotna High.
Bowman led the Moose with a dozen.
The Palmer boys scored a pair of wins during the road trip. Saturday, freshman Dae Osiensky scored 20 to lead the Moose to a 50-38 win over Kenai. Osiensky hit six of Palmer’s seven three-pointers in the game. Clayton Southwick added 12, and Donovan Eiman chipped in nine.
Palmer, now 2-2 in the NLC, beat Soldotna 46-28 Friday. Southwick led all scorers with 19.
