PALMER — West Valley finished without a field goal in the fourth quarter, but did enough at the free throw line to prevent a Palmer rally and score a 42-39 nonconference in over the Moose Friday in Palmer.
The Wolfpack were 12 of 14 from the stripe during the final eight minutes. Ruthy Hebard, who scored a game-high 20 points, was 6 of 8 from the free throw line in the fourth for West Valley.
West Valley only had three total field goals in the second half.
The Moose fell behind early, scoring only one point in the first quarter.
Taylor Ledger scored a team-high 13 for the Moose.
Palmer opened its weekend with a 55-33 win over Lathrop on Thursday.
Leah DePriest scored a game-high 17 points in the win. Carly Venzke hit a pair of three-pointers and added 13 points in the victory.

Moose boys 1-2 against MAC teams
PALMER — The Palmer Moose snapped a losing skid with a 75-65 boys basketball win over North Pole on Saturday.
Adam Ramoth led Palmer with 24 points. James Nisbett added 13 points and five assists. Evan Colbert recorded a double-double for Palmer, finishing with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Cody Wells added nine points and nine rebounds.
Chandler Jones also had 11.
Friday, Ramoth netted 35 points during a 79-70 loss to West Valley. Nisbett added 15.
After trailing at halftime Thursday, Lathrop rallied to score a 51-40 nonconference win over.
Palmer led 29-23 at halftime, but Lathrop jumped back into the game with a 14-5 third-quarter run.
Ramoth led Palmer with 18. Nisbett added nine for the Moose, and Brady Southwick chipped in six.
Kyle Carlson led Lathrop with a game-high 20.
