PALMER — The Palmer Moose and Colony Knights each swept a pair of Northern Lights Conference foes over the weekend.
Palmer opened its weekend with a 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-17) win over the Soldotna Stars.
“It was a good match,” Palmer head coach Steve Reynolds said. “I felt like the teams were fairly close. (The match) didn’t necessarily indicate the level of play.”
Morgan Morfe led the Moose with 14 kills and five aces. Jenna Arlow contributed 26 assists, and Lilly Cullers had eight digs.
Palmer also beat Kenai 3-0 (25-19, 25-14, 25-11).
Kalene Smith had five aces for Palmer. Arlow finished with 19 assists and Morfe had 10 kills.
The Knights also scored wins over Kenai and Soldotna.
Juniors Allison Leigh and Mary Klapperich had nine kills each during a 3-0 (25-9, 25-10, 25-18) win over Kenai on Friday.
Jordan Ertz and Mariah Weydahl had four assists each against the Kardinals.
Leigh finished with 18 kills to lead the Knights to a 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 26-24) win over Soldotna on Saturday.
