PALMER — The Palmer Moose opened the 2014-15 prep hockey season with a 6-4 nonconference win over the Juneau-Douglas Crimson Bears Thursday afternoon at the MTA Events Center in Palmer.
Taylor Foster bagged a hat trick to lead the Moose to the win. Josh Meyers and Darren Fish each added a goal and an assist. Reagan Rice also scored for PHS. Cody Grogan earned the win in the Moose net.
Grant Ainsworth led Juneau with a pair of goals.
Palmer was scheduled to play Bartlett today at 7 p.m. in Palmer, but the Bears forfeited the game due to lack of available players.
First period — 1. Palmer- Meyers (Keil) 14:19; 2. Palmer- Foster (Fish, Meyers) 6:42; 3. Juneau- Ainsworth (Cheeseman) 6:06.

EAGLE RIVER — The Chugiak Mustangs used a trio of third-period goals to rally to a 5-3 win over Wasilla Tuesday at the McDonald Center in Eagle River.
Tyler Lutz, Luke Schruf and Koltan Slack scored for Wasilla.
Wasilla plays rival Colony tonight at 7 p.m. at the Menard Arena.
