The Palmer Moose opened their 2024 prep baseball season with a 13-3 win over Grace Christian Saturday at Wasilla High School.
Moose pitcher Reed Craner fanned 10 hitters over just four innings, and also scored three runs. Jackson Charlton also scored three runs, and Levi Patton-Meyer drove in two runs.
Palmer scored seven runs in the second, and led 13-0 after three.
Colony earned three wins over the weekend. The Knights beat Dimond 15-5, and swept Hutchison in a doubleheader 17-2 and 16-1.
Brayden Parrent led the Knights on the mound and at the plate during the win over the Lynx. Parrent, Colony’s starter, struck 11 hitters over five innings. He allowed two hits and five runs, but none were earned. Parrent also tripled, drove in three runs and scored twice.
Boman Marks and Kaesen Buzby finished with two hits, two runs and two RBI each.
Regan Gordon led Colony with six RBI during the first win over Hutchison. Jacob Seward-Jenski, William Lindsay and Riley Gressett drew five walks and scored five runs each. Colony drew 40 walks in the win.
Marks also drove in five runs.
Buzby led Colony with three RBI during the second win over Hutchison. Marks and Parrent scored three runs each. Four different Knights scored two runs each.
In other action, Diamond defeated Wasilla 10-1.
