ANCHORAGE — Palmer survived Grace Christian’s 23-point fourth quarter and held on for a 52-49 win over the Grizzlies during the first round of the Alaska Prep Shootout at Dimond High School on Thursday.
Senior Connor Looney poured in 29 points to help the Moose grab the win and move into a semifinal match with Bartlett. The Bears, who beat Soldotna 51-50 in overtime on Thursday, will meet the Moose tonight at 6:15 p.m. at Dimond High.
Looney hit 11 of 19 shots from the floor and 4 of 7 from behind the arc in the win. He also grabbed eight rebounds.
Brian Selmer notched a double-double for the Moose with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Hans Karlberg led all scorers with 30 points for Grace.
