PALMER — The Palmer Moose rallied to score a 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-22, 18-16) prep volleyball win over the Colony Knights Tuesday at Palmer High School.
Talia Villnerve used a monster effort, with 27 kills and 27 digs, to help the Moose score the victory. Makenzie Terwilliger added 20 assists and a pair of aces.
“Talia was great. Oftentimes I feel like she’s an understated player because she shoes up and does her job and doesn’t need or want anything in return,” Palmer head coach Jayme DeHart said by email. “She plays because she loves it, but she’s very good.”
DeHart praised Villnerve and Terwilliger, both seniors.
“I felt like my seniors (Kenzie and Talia) took over for us towards the end of the match,” DeHart said. “Kenzie makes a lot of hustle plays and had some timely blocks. And my libero Brynlyn Crossley also started to get rolling as the game went on.”
The rivals meet again Sept. 29 at Colony High.
