Kristen Beames added 10 kills in the win. Palmer improved to 4-4 in Northern Lights Conference play with the victory, and the Moose kept themselves part of a tight pack in the five-team conference. Colony is at the top of the NLC standings with a 6-1 mark and is followed by Soldotna (5-3), Wasilla (4-3) and Palmer (4-4). Fifth-place Kodiak is 0-8.
Colony will host Wasilla Friday at 7 p.m. in the NLC regular season finale.
Tuesday’s match at Wasilla High marked the third meeting between the Valley rivals in four days. Palmer and Wasilla also met twice during the final day of the Dimond/Service Tournament in Anchorage Saturday. Wasilla beat Palmer 2-1 (17-25, 25-16, 15-4) in the second round of the championship tournament. Wasilla’s second win over the Moose came in the bottom side of the bracket in the double-elimination tourney. The Warriors finished as the runner-up in the Anchorage tournament.
