PALMER — Palmer suffered its first loss of the season last Friday, but it wasn’t enough to knock the Moose out of the latest Alaska Sports Broadcasting Network Poll.
Palmer (3-1) is now ranked third according to the sports network’s large-schools list. The Moose dropped to 3-1 after a 42-7 loss to Woodinville, Wash., at Machetanz Field.
South Anchorage (3-1) climbed back to the top of the poll, and is the new large-schools No. 1. Like Palmer, South is undefeated against Alaska competition. South’s lone loss came to Moorpark, Calif., two weeks ago. Service (3-1) dropped from first to fifth after a 27-26 loss to Chugiak (2-2) on Saturday. Chugiak is now fourth.
Lathrop (4-0) moved up a spot after a 42-32 home win over Wasilla and is now ranked second, its highest ASBN ranking in school history. Wasilla dropped out of the poll with the loss.
Soldotna (4-0) held on to its top spot in the medium/small division. The Stars bounced Thunder Mountain 60-6.
Juneau-Douglas (4-0), which beat Colony 33-24 stayed at No. 2. Kenai (4-0) is ranked third, followed by North Pole (2-1) and Kodiak (2-1).
Eielson also recieved at least a vote in the medium/small list.
