The Palmer Moose used a big second half to score an 81-53 boys basketball nonconference win over visiting Houston Thursday evening at Palmer High School.
Palmer held a three-point lead, 31-28, at halftime, but outscored the Hawks 50-25 during the final two quarters. Logan Rolston scored 14 of Palmer’s 29 third-quarter points. Lukas Owen added eight in the third.
Rolston led Palmer with 26 points. Owen added 14, and Maddox Moore chipped in 10.
Noah Whitted led Houston with a game-high 31. The senior had 11 of Houston’s 20 field goals and hit nine of his team’s 13 free throws. Whitted scored 13 of Houston’s 16 first-quarter points.
Earlier in the evening, the Palmer girls beat Houston 48-37. Jasmine Hephner and Grace Muilenburg scored 10 each for the Moose. Sarah Bodfish led Houston with 14. The Hawks scored 21 of their 37 points in the fourth.
