PALMER -- The Palmer Moose scored 22 points in the second quarter and held on to defeat the Skyview Panthers 44-38 at Palmer High School on Saturday.
The Moose improved to 4-1 in Region III and extended their winning streak to four games.
Senior forward Emily Bolling led the Moose with 17 points in the game. Bolling scored 12 points in the second half. Fellow senior Keisha Hooker scored nine points.
Moose down Homer
Palmer used a 14-7 run in the fourth quarter to defeat Homer 50-41 at Palmer High School on Friday.
Bolling scored a game-high 17 for Palmer and Keisha Hooker, in her first action since early in the season, added 16 points.
Hooker returned to action after being sidelined due to a thumb injury.
Alicia Berberich added eight points in the win.
Warrior girls win
Chandice Cronk scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Wasilla Warriors to a 62-37 nonconference win over Bartlett on Saturday.
Megan Steerman scored 13 points for Wasilla and Jamie Brown added 12.
Colony tops Homer
The Colony Knights defeated Homer 44-28 on Saturday.
The Knight defense allowed just four points in the first quarter and five points in the third quarter.
Kristina Klapperich scored a game-high 15 for Colony.
Knights defeat Panthers
The Colony Knights burned Skyview for 36 points in the first half, while allowing just five, and carried the momentem to a 59-24 Region III win at Colony High School on Friday.
Siena Locke posted a game-high 13 points and 10 different players scored for the Knights.
Seward defeats Houston
The Houston girls dropped a 47-32 contest to Seward in Region III-3A conference action at Houston High School on Friday.
Whitney Conn, the lone Hawk to reach double digits, led Houston with 10 points.
Melissa Johnson led Seward with 14 points.
Nikiski defeated Houston 46-36 the following afternoon.
Conn and Brandi Harvey each scored 13 points.
Bulldogs edge Hawks
A 12-7 advantage after the first quarter proved to be the difference for Nikiski as the Bulldogs edged Houston 56-54 at Houston High School on Saturday.
Houston outscored Nikiski 20-17 in the second quarter and the teams played to a 27-27 lock in the second half.
Jeremiah Taylor led Nikiski with 27 points. Roy Stull scored a team-high 14 for Houston.
Knight boys beat Skyview
The Colony Knights earned a 69-52 Region III win over Skyview at Colony High School on Friday.
Ryan Gray led a trio of Knights in double digits with 17 points.
Rhett Magner added 12 points and Justin Schwartzbauer chipped in 10.
Knights top Homer
Colony won in Region III action for the second consecutive night with a 59-44 win over Homer on
Saturday.
Kyle Coffman and Schwartzbauer each scored 11 points to lead the Knights.
