WASILLA — A pair of pitchers combined to toss a no-hitter on Palmer’s opening day Tuesday at Redington.
Keegan Norman and Landon Guggenmos each worked during Palmer’s 16-1 victory over the Huskies. Norman made the start, fanned five and allowed Redington’s lone run in the game. Guggenmos fanned six over 2 1/3 innings, and didn’t walk a batter.
Cade Holland led the Moose at the plate, recording two hits, two runs and three RBI. Kaj Taylor and Lucas Adams added two hits and two runs each. Norman and Brady Shults both scored three times. Norman also added a pair of RBI.
Wasilla 3, Chugiak 2
Byson Malave used a run-scoring triple to spark Wasilla during a 3-2 win over Chugiak Tuesday at Wasilla High School.
Clayton Boyett added a pair of runs in the win. Carter Huston worked 5 1/3 innings, and earned the win on the mound.
