PALMER — Junior Ian Ahrens rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns and junior Ben King recovered a pair of onside kicks to lead the Palmer Moose to a 26-12 win over the Wasilla Warriors in the 2010 Potato Bowl Saturday afternoon at Machetanz Field at Palmer High School.

The victory gave the Moose the chance to hoist the Mayor's Cup trophy for the 24th time in the last 32 years. Palmer also locked up the No. 3 seed in the Railbelt Conference with the win.

Palmer used the onside kick twice during the first quarter and King recovered the ball on both plays to keep the ball away from the Warriors. Wasilla was held to just four offensive plays in the first quarter.

Junior quarterback Jackson Buresh finished with 102 yards passing connected with senior Jim McCall on a 22-yard touchdown pass late in the first half. McCall had seven catches for 96 yards and the score. Buresh also had a touchdown run.

Junior Devon Teeling led Wasilla with 171 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
