You bet I’m going to vote, and vote early to beat that Oct. 1 rush.
Even if we don’t always agree, I want to know my representative really hears myself and my neighbors. I want to feel he knows the issues and understands what he’s voting on. I want to hear content, not labels, and see our property taxes focused on us in the Valley before they’re wagered on benefits for Anchorage.
I want my representative to add up the numbers and consider a range of alternatives when he reviews an issue. His decisions should be his, based on facts and figures. He should be able and willing to explain those decisions in words that make sense, including cost and benefit comparisons.
